I was born in 1981 in Kyoto Prefecture. In high school, while working part-time at a yakiniku restaurant, I was deeply impressed by the deliciousness of wagyu harami (skirt steak) for the first time and decided to pursue a career in cooking. While employed by a company, I trained extensively at a Kyoto wagyu specialty yakiniku restaurant, learning cooking techniques and plating. At age 28 I joined Kyo no Yakiniku-dokoro Hiro and have been providing yakiniku that brings out the full appeal of wagyu.
