It has been a long time since the two chefs who trained for seven years at the famous Italian restaurant Cucina Hirata in Azabu Juban went independent and visited their favorite Italian restaurant for the first time in a long while. Doncicchio" is a restaurant that has introduced a new line of Sicilian cuisine to Japan while keeping the Hirata's hospitality. The famous Sicilian dish, swordfish tuna steak with garlic and tomatoes, is a must! If you have been to Sicily, you will be delighted with this dish. The oysters, milky and silky, from a region near Atsugishi in Hokkaido, which we had as an appetizer, impressed me next to Apicius. Mortobono! Bright and open interior. A bright restaurant with many good-looking staff under a friendly but firm manager. The pasta tasted a bit more bland than before, and the signature dish, pasta with sardines and raisins, was a bit lacking in anchovies, bread crumbs, and raisins, and I thought it lacked a little bit of Sicilian firmness. Other dishes on the menu, such as linguine with mussels from Mont Saint-Michel, were delicious, but lacked the punch that one would expect from Sicily. There were two types of lemoncello, one sweet with a hint of bitterness from the rind and the other less sweet. However, in terms of totality, this is still a favorite restaurant where you can enjoy yourself without any logic. The space is comfortable and unpretentious. I recommend it for an anniversary with a few close friends.
