As I walked along the narrow path of a quiet village, I was excited to suddenly come across a homely soba restaurant. After taking off my shoes at the entrance and sitting at a chair and table placed in a wooden-floored room, I felt a sense of comfort as if I had been invited to a friend's house. The soba made from 100% buckwheat flour offers two types: fine and coarsely ground, and comparing the two reveals distinct differences in aroma and texture, which is quite interesting. I particularly enjoyed the coarsely ground rustic soba, which is made with the husk included, and I was able to savor its rich flavor with just a little salt and wasabi. The tempura featured seasonal vegetables and fruits, and the combination of the crispy batter and the sweetness of the juices was refreshing. The warm hospitality of the couple and the rich soba broth made for a delightful experience, leaving me feeling content and warm-hearted after the meal.
