The owner and his wife are very sweet people. They prepared a delicious lunch for us. You can see the care and passion in their work. It was a beautiful experience that I recommend to everyone.
It was a great experience. The owner and his wife really make you feel welcome and as if you were having dinner with a local friend. He really goes out of his way to please you
Food is great and at a very reasonable price.
One of the most moving and beautiful experiences I've ever had. The chef is old but still has a very strong passion and love for what he does. He entertained us, we laughed a lot and ate very well
An unforgettable dining experience. The restaurant is run entirely by a 98-year-old Japanese chef who does everything himself — from taking orders to preparing each dish with incredible care and precision. You can truly feel the passion, dedication, and love he puts into his work. Every plate tells a story of tradition, experience, and authenticity. Beyond the amazing food, the chef’s humble and warm presence makes the experience even more special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for genuine Japanese cuisine and a truly inspiring atmosphere.

I ordered the Tiger Special. There are no shellfish or shining fish in the ingredients. If it's a sushi restaurant, I would like them to include it. I won't be coming back next time.
Family atmosphere and delicious sushi! They welcomed us with an appetizer and then continued with the sushi while we sipped sake. An unforgettable experience, thank you for everything!
We discovered Tora during our trip to Kanazawa, and it turned out to be an absolute gem. It’s one of those places that not only feeds you, but makes you feel at home even when you’re thousands of miles away. The atmosphere is cozy, intimate, and unmistakably Japanese, with that comforting quietness that lets you enjoy every bite.
We ordered several dishes to share, and each one was better than the last. Every ingredient tasted incredibly fresh, and the execution was perfect. Texture, flavor, balance… everything was truly spot-on. You can tell they cook with care and great attention to detail.
The service was wonderful—kind, attentive without being intrusive, and with that gentle Japanese hospitality that makes the experience even more special.
We left happy, full, and with the feeling that we’d found a little hidden treasure in Kanazawa. It’s the kind of place I’d return to without hesitation, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.
The most unique culinary experience in Japan and one of the top ones of my life. The food was fresh, amazing and when it comes to the atmosphere and the owner no words can describe it. Just go ❤️
