A heartwarming Japanese cuisine gem

Ajidokoro Hyoutan quietly stands in a serene corner of Kanda, offering heartfelt Japanese dishes in a hidden gem setting. The charm lies in its homey yet meticulously prepared cuisine. The sashimi made from fresh seafood and the shabu-shabu featuring high-quality beef are particularly exquisite. It's a place where you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy Japanese food in a warm atmosphere.

As you climb the narrow stairs, a traditional atmosphere spreads out, providing a sense of calm. The couple manages the place together, and their warm hospitality and gentle flavors are comforting. The handling of fish is impressive; the simmered dish has tender flesh, and the umami of the broth comes through beautifully. The small assortment of side dishes served at the beginning is delightful, featuring seasonal ingredients. The sashimi is fresh, and the beef shabu-shabu can be enjoyed with small tongs, which is satisfying. The vegetables and tofu in the hot pot are also delicious, and I feel happy to finish with a bowl of rice porridge.
