The light through the washi paper creates a gentle and calming atmosphere.
The ingredients are carefully prepared.
The rice has a nice elasticity and is to my taste.
It was delicious, thank you for the meal.
This time I visited for my wife's birthday. The quality of the meat and the staff's service were both very good, and we had a great time. I would like to go again!

A delicate and profound world of French cuisine
Located in the heart of Sendai, "Nacre" is a restaurant where you can enjoy French cuisine influenced by Italy, crafted by Chef Minoru Ogata. Each dish is prepared using the finest ingredients of the day, employing meticulous techniques and reliable cooking methods. It strikes a balance between beautiful presentation and robust flavors, captivating many guests. This is the perfect place for those seeking a rich experience that engages all five senses.
Located in the bustling downtown of Sendai, this renowned establishment specializes in Sendai beef yakiniku. With a standing dining style, you can savor authentic Sendai beef, including rare cuts, ordered by the piece. This unique approach offers a new way to enjoy yakiniku, and the sizzling sounds and aromas of the grilling process delight the senses, making it a favorite among meat lovers.
I visited for the first time. From the moment I chose the second appetizer and the main course from the menu, I had a wonderful and enjoyable time. The beauty of the presentation of the dishes, their deliciousness, and the attentive service were all outstanding. I was pleased with the system that allowed me to choose my preferred wine after tasting, even without pairing. Additionally, since I mentioned it was my partner's birthday, I was touched to find a message added to the dessert. I will definitely visit again.
Korean restaurant located in the basement of the power building. 🇰🇷
I went there after 1:00 on a weekday, but there were many customers coming and going, so it seems to be a popular restaurant.
They have a wide variety of set menus, and after some hesitation, I decided to go for the stone-grilled bibimbap. It was very delicious. I was happy because I like spicy food and I could put as much gochijang (spicy Korean red pepper paste) on it as I wanted. The price is reasonable at 850 yen and I would like to go back and try Sundubu next time 🤔🤔.
I was very impressed. It is not a strenuous Chinese dish to eat, but a gentle taste. You can also enjoy the aroma. I especially liked the fish dishes, the small baskets, and the fried rice (or rather, they were all delicious).
I made a reservation for the course (signature menu)!
On this day, the 'beer of the day' was made up of four types from Mikkeller, which made it easy for someone like me, who isn't very knowledgeable about beer, to choose. Moreover, the selection included the types I wanted to drink, and I was very satisfied.
The dishes, from appetizers to smørrebrød, cheese, and dessert, were beautifully presented and very delicious. They also answered questions like, 'What is this flavor coming from?' and 'What is the shape of this cheese...?' which made for a very enjoyable culinary experience during my trip. Thank you very much!
I would like to visit again on my next trip to Sendai.

A hidden gem where you can savor local ingredients from Tohoku
Sushi Yutaka is a hidden Edo-style sushi restaurant in Sendai. The calm atmosphere features a solid wood counter, allowing guests to enjoy dishes made with fresh ingredients from the Tohoku region, including local Ishinomaki produce. Notably, the firm-cooked Sasanishiki rice pairs exquisitely with the carefully selected toppings chosen by the chef. The owner, who has experience as a sommelier, offers a selection of wines and sake that elevate the dining experience to a luxurious moment.
This year I traveled alone to Sendai and ate beef tongue tataki for the first time! I was there for the beef tongue 😋.
I went there for the beef tongue, but when I saw the menu, I ordered this one first!
I was calling out how delicious it was, all by myself (lol)!
It's not often you see such a rare dish, but when I go to Sendai again, I'm going to try this one.
Oh, and I also enjoyed the beef tongue afterwards! I'll never forget it 😋.
By the way, according to Sendai locals, it is a good person who chooses Kaku on his first visit to the city (lol).
Well, anyway, I was satisfied 😆.
... ...
Izakaya Chocho is located in Sendai Kokubuncho.
I wanted to go there because it was recommended by many people.
On the way back from a meeting, we stopped by.
The concept, the liveliness, the food, it's wonderful!
I learned a lot ◎
Well, let's go back to Yamagata!
I could not forget how delicious the food was the first time I went there, so I made a reservation for the first time in two years. Not only can you taste Akita's local cuisine, but you can also enjoy various kinds of sake. If you are not sure whether you want dry or sweet sake, ask the manager and he will tell you.
I visited the restaurant at 6:00 p.m. with one person. It was recommended to me by an acquaintance in Sendai, and I made a reservation a week before.
The restaurant has a counter for 10 people and table seating. The staff at the restaurant, who greeted us from behind the counter, were all friendly and courteous.
The drink lineup is unique, which is fun to see. Sake and wine are also well represented.
The moment I picked up the starter of oni-oroshi (grated radish) and pickles with my thin chopsticks, my confidence in the restaurant grew, and all I could do was devour the carefully grilled skewers.
Even the chicken soup ramen at the end was seamlessly delicious.
When the restaurant was full, the operation sometimes seemed to slow down a bit, such as when refills were needed, but the entire experience was pleasant and tasty from start to finish.
The entrance is not easy to find (3rd floor after the entrance of a narrow building. The entrance is hard to find (3rd floor of a narrow building with no signage), so be careful. If you have the courage to open the door, you will be in a world of bliss.
Located in Sendai Asakusa, "Lee's Kimchi" is a Korean restaurant that evokes the atmosphere of traditional Korean street food stalls. It offers a diverse menu, with particularly popular items including seafood pancakes made with fresh seafood and perfectly grilled samgyeopsal. Don't miss the chance to enjoy traditional Korean flavors along with fresh makgeolli. Open until late at night, it's a great spot to enjoy a meal at any hour.
Rifugio dove gustare ostriche fresche e sake giapponese
The Old Café has been around since 1989 with the concept of "the finest coffee & the finest bread".
The coffee is good and the cheesecake is delicious.
I would like to try toast and coffee next time.
I only wish they could do something about the smoking area still being there.
The interior, which only has a U-shaped counter seating, seems to accommodate about 8 people, and the distance to the staff (including the atmosphere) felt close. The food is only available as a course, and from the assortment of small appetizers, I could feel a sense of elegance that was enjoyable to the eyes as well. Every dish was delicious, and the sake paired with it, perhaps chosen by the owner, often had a gentle mouthfeel that highlighted the deliciousness of the rice, leaving me very satisfied. I had a truly wonderful time. I would like to visit this special place again in the future.
