Che cosa è Tonkatsu?: Tonkatsu highlights a pork cutlet coated in flour, egg, and airy panko, then fried until the crust turns crisp while the interior stays tender. Guests often choose between juicy, flavorful loin and lean, delicate fillet, with thickness, breadcrumb size, and frying technique shaping the bite. Plates commonly arrive with shredded cabbage, steamed rice, miso soup, and pickles, while condiments such as robust tonkatsu sauce, salt, mustard, or ground sesame invite small adjustments. Menus frequently include variations: curry rice crowned with a cutlet, katsudon simmered with egg and onions, or versions dressed with a savory miso glaze. Many kitchens prepare cutlets to order and rest them on a wire rack to keep the coating crisp. The appeal lies in contrasts—light, crackling crumbs against juicy meat—and in simple rituals of slicing, dipping, and listening for that gentle crunch that signals a thoughtfully fried piece.
The hele katsu is healthy, but the loin is a bit greasy! Next time I want Chateaubriand!

Tonkatsu x Izakaya RPG is an izakaya where you can enjoy meticulously crafted tonkatsu and a diverse selection of drinks. The tonkatsu is characterized by its crispy coating and juicy meat, and the Chinese dishes are also exceptional. Additionally, the restaurant offers a unique experience where you can immerse yourself in the world of the music group 'SEKAI NO OWARI.' It's a hidden gem where you can spend a pleasant time in a cozy atmosphere.
Its unparalled and great dining experience. The chef is friendly and served me with special otoshi. I had the loin tonkatsu and had varying level of appreciation of its unique take of Tonkatsu. It is quite tender, good on a palate and just taste good food. I also got the grilled brown rice onigiri with umeboshi on it. I paired it with Nihonshu and it just complement of what I eat. Also, I got a special treat お酒 being the sole guests at that time. Overall, a nice to cap here on my last night in Osaka and made it memorable at Takuya.
When you sit at the counter, the staff's bright greeting welcomes you pleasantly. The cutlet being fried right in front of you is finished to a golden brown, and the crispy texture of the coating continues until the last bite. The red meat inside is finely textured, and combined with the melting sweetness of the fat, it creates a deliciousness that makes you smile involuntarily. At first, you enjoy it as is, then with salt, and finally with a blended sauce, which enhances the umami of the meat even more. The freshly cooked rice and crunchy cabbage are available for refills, and the homemade dressing made with green chili adds a refreshing accent. Even the white miso-based pork soup and pickles are carefully prepared, making it a wonderful place where you can feel warm hospitality throughout.
