Che cosa è Tokyo?: Tokyo’s dining scene brings together classic washoku techniques and global flavors across an ever-changing metropolis. From Edomae-style sushi, soba, tempura, and grilled eel to contemporary tasting menus and casual counter dining, the range of experiences is broad. Markets, food halls, and yokocho alleyways create a rhythm that shifts from early-morning bustle to late-night snacks, while department-store depachika showcase seasonal bento, sweets, and prepared dishes. Many chefs highlight ingredients drawn from surrounding seas and mountains, and diners encounter everything from quick stand-and-eat shops to intimate chef-led courses. A hallmark of local history is the Edo-era street food culture that helped shape Tokyo’s preference for skillful, efficient service and clear flavors, an influence still felt in today’s ramen shops, tempura counters, and sushi bars. Pop-ups and limited-time menus appear across districts, reflecting a spirit of experimentation that complements time-honored craft.

It is a very hard-to-reserve restaurant, ranked No. 1 in Japan in the Yakiniku category of "Yakiniku" in "Eating Log", but I was invited by a fellow gourmet to this restaurant.
Omakase course (12,000 yen, drinks not included)
The first course was a thick and impressive cut of tongue and halami. Both meats have a pleasing texture that makes you want to chew them forever.
Enjoy red meat such as rump and tomosankaku, or two pieces of filet mignon on a hire sukiyaki donburi. We also had ichibo and sirloin (*^^)v
To finish, brisket sandwich, yellowtail rice, and bolognese. And the course ended with dessert.
It was a lunchtime visit, but the meat was wonderful with no damage to my stomach at all that night or the next day.

■A taste you will never forget. The taste you tasted that day still lingers: a famous yakiniku restaurant where you can experience the ultimate!
SATO BRIAN
♦︎ Asagaya station
A 2-minute walk from Asagaya Station.
SATO BRIAN, a yakiniku restaurant so famous that it no longer needs to be mentioned.
I don't think there is anyone who doesn't know about it if you are a gourmet.
It is a famous restaurant among famous restaurants, and is famous for the fact that reservations are not easy to get.
(Recently, many branch restaurants have opened, so it has become relatively easy to get a reservation.)
It is ranked high in the "Eat Log" ranking and is still in the top 10 yakiniku restaurants in Japan.
SATO BRIAN's main restaurant does not accept reservations for less than two people.
Therefore, it is recommended to go with a family or good friends.
If you are on a date, use Nigou restaurant or Hire Lover SATO.
The main restaurant has a private room on the far side of the restaurant, so you can enjoy first-class meat without worrying about your surroundings.
(The surrounding walls are covered with celebrity autographs, interesting to look at)
Menu
♦14,000 yen course
The best tongue, thickly sliced extra fine Harami, two kinds of red meat, Wagyu marbled beef, special fillet sukiyaki, the best A5 Chateaubriand (yellowtail rice), Brikatsu sandwich, etc., all of which are outstandingly delicious.
The Buri Meshi is the ultimate in luxurious rice, with chateaubriand topped with unotan and served with corn rice. How could one not bite into it?
The brisket sandwich was the most delicious sandwich I have ever had.
The texture, flavor, and sweetness of the meat combined with the crispiness of the sandwich was a marriage made in heaven!
To be honest, it was not a matter of which sandwich was better than the other, but a true "superb" time was spent from start to finish.
I was so happy that I was immersed in memories from the next day.
This is a restaurant that I would like to take myself or someone else to as a reward when they have worked hard at something.
Of course, it is also OK for special occasions.
SATO Briand has a taste that you will never forget.
Thank you for the food.

SATO's brilliance is also here: Soul-stirringly delicious yakiniku restaurant!
Satoburi DA

1 minute walk from Asagaya station.

(Recently, many branch restaurants have opened, so it has become relatively easy to get a reservation.)
It is ranked high in the "Eat Log" ranking and is still in the top 10 yakiniku restaurants in Japan.
This time, we visited its offshoot restaurant, SATO BRI DA.
It is the smallest of the SATO BRIAN family of restaurants, with only three tables.
However, you can enjoy the same courses as at the main restaurant and Nigo.
Reservations are relatively easy to get, so I would recommend it.
Reservations are not accepted at Satobri DA if there are less than two people.
Therefore, it is recommended to go with a family or good friends.
(I used Satburi DA with my family.)

Menu
♦14,000 yen course
Extra high quality tongue, thickly sliced extra high quality jalami, two kinds of red meat, Wagyu marbled beef, special fillet sukiyaki, extra high quality A5 chateaubriand (yellowtail rice), brisket sandwich, etc.
The course menu is the same as the main restaurant.
You will never get tired of the taste no matter how many times you try it.
The special fillet sukiyaki is served with a generous portion of fillet, which is both rich and delicate with a golden yellow flesh. The leftover sauce is poured over white rice to make a "super luxurious TKG.
The brisket sandwich is a treasure. It is a menu item that I would like to eat every day.
Satburi DA has the same quality as the main store and the Nigo store.
The staff at Satburi DA seems to work flexibly, and I met the same staff at Satburi DA who helped me when I visited the main restaurant before.
And she remembered me! Great customer service! LOL!
I knew SATO Briand has a taste that I will never forget!
Thanks for the treat.
