What is Osaka?: Osaka is a dynamic gateway in Japan where everyday flavors and artisanal techniques coexist. The city is often associated with the playful spirit of kuidaore, and that convivial mindset shapes a dining scene that encourages grazing through neighborhoods, from sizzling takoyaki stands and hearty okonomiyaki counters to crisp kushikatsu, dashi-forward udon, and refined kaiseki-inspired plates. Market arcades and waterfront districts invite seafood-focused menus, while cozy izakaya alleys, noodle shops, and sweets artisans reflect a love of approachable, seasonal tastes. Pressed sushi traditions and a fondness for rich yet balanced broths hint at Kansai’s palate. As a historic merchant center tied to trade and entertainment, Osaka nurtured quick, flavorful cooking and a culture of lively hospitality that continues to influence its tables today. Visitors may find that both classic comfort dishes and globally inspired kitchens share the same emphasis on warmth, rhythm, and the joy of eating together.
What is Bistro?: A bistro invites diners to enjoy unfussy, flavor-forward cooking in a relaxed, neighborhood setting. Menus often highlight French-inspired comfort dishes such as steak frites, coq au vin, duck confit, or moules marinières, alongside seasonal salads, terrines, and rustic tarts. Cooking leans on classic techniques—slow braising, careful roasting, and quick pan-searing—paired with pan sauces, herb butter, or simple jus that showcase the ingredients. Fresh bread, house pickles, and thoughtfully dressed greens commonly round out the plate. Many bistros present a compact menu with daily specials written on a chalkboard, encouraging guests to explore what is in season. Wines by the glass and approachable bottles are typically curated to complement the food, with an easy rhythm of aperitif to digestif. The atmosphere tends to favor conversation: small tables, warm lighting, and a steady pace of service that supports a lingering meal, whether for a casual lunch or an unhurried evening.

A cozy atmosphere to enjoy authentic bistro cuisine
Kamekichi Bistro is located near Tanimachi 4-chome Station, offering a casual setting to enjoy classic French dishes. The interior provides a relaxed atmosphere where you can unwind, and the attentive service enhances the overall comfort. The dishes pair exquisitely with wine, especially those featuring red wine, which are renowned for their exceptional taste. This is a place that offers a wonderful experience you won't forget after your first visit.
The interior is narrow, so it can be influenced for better or worse depending on the people at the neighboring tables. This time, it was for the worse. I thought that if the waiter considered the reservation status for the day, the atmosphere of the actual visitors, and their ages while guiding the seating, it could lead to repeat visits and regular customers. The table squeezed between young people was noisy, and the conversations I could hear did not create an environment to enjoy the food. I know it may be unreasonable to expect a certain atmosphere in a bistro, but I would have appreciated it if they could provide an environment to enjoy the food. However, the waiter who attended to us was someone who showed consideration and attentiveness. Thank you very much.

If you are lost in Umeda, this is the place to go! A restaurant where you can enjoy sophisticated cuisine prepared by a chef from Kamakura♪
I use this place every time I am in trouble in Umeda, so I guess my good friends have been taken here before. LOL!
I finally took a proper picture of it, so the time has come to write about it lol.
Before I go any further, let me say that the chef is also a DJ as a hobby. LOL!
But that's beside the point. The restaurant is located in Shibata, which might be easier to understand if I say it's in the direction of the Grand Front North Building in Umeda.
Not many people go to that area, so it's a real hole-in-the-wall. (I really don't want to tell you! LOL)
The restaurant has a counter and high tables.
It used to be a standing drinking style, but now chairs are placed. \cH0000000000}
The chef came out from Kamakura to Osaka for various reasons, and we are really grateful to him for coming. LOL!
This restaurant is the reason why I came to love carrot rapé so much!
Cakesalet
I can't tell you how many times I've heard this one over and over again. LOL!
A side dish cake born in France!
It's very salty and sweet, moist, and insanely delicious!
Carrot Rapée
You must try this one.
This dish allows you to enjoy the sweetness of the carrots.
Pate en croute
This time, it contains duck, pork, and foie gras,
The consommé jus balances it all out and is insanely delicious.
This is the chef's recommendation.
I heard that there is a world competition for pâté en croute, so I really hope it will be there.
It seems that pâté is something baked with dough and the part is spread all over.
Quiche with Green Peas, Potatoes and Bacon
Do you like quiche?
I told him that I love it. I told him that I love quiche, and he said I should definitely try this one, so I had one of the two types.
It is filled with green peas and has a good balance of salty bacon and sweet potato.
Cheese and Mushroom Pie Wrapper
I saw this one on the counter and asked, "What is this? I asked, and was told that it is a pie filled with cheese and mushrooms, so I had to try the pie with all my favorite foods lol.
The pie is crispy and has a delicious cheese flavor!
Smoked mackerel
This is a menu item that has been around for a long time, but I haven't had it for a long time.
It is the most delicious.
It looks beautiful and is a fusion of Japanese and French cuisine.
Handmade Orecchiette
When it comes to homemade pasta, there is no other way but to eat it! This is the "shime" dish.
It has cherry shrimp and spring cabbage in it, so it smells very spring-like. The chewy texture of the orecchiette was delicious! I ate it all in one piece!
The drink was a lemon chu-hai with eiei eiei.
It is not on the menu, but if you read the reviews here and tell them you want to try it, they may be able to make it for you if they have extra lemons or if they are not too busy!
I'm often like this, so I'll be back soon! LOL!
Thanks for the food!

Red & White
Red and white 🍢🍷🍾 in Baltika
🍷🍾.
Balchica gourmet after Matsuba 😆.
I'm not sure if this is a good idea.
Speaking of Red & White, it's located right after the escalator from Midosuji Line down to Balchica.
The restaurant is located just down the escalator from the Midosuji Line to Barcica.
There's always a line of people waiting to get in 😅.
😅
There are 3 stores in Osaka including this one, the others are in Shin-Osaka and Hankyu Sanbangai.
We have 3 shops in Osaka including this one.
I wanted to eat at Balchika, the most prosperous restaurant in Osaka, so I went there during a typhoon and a weekday holiday 😅.
I went there on a typhoon + weekday holiday 😅...
I managed to avoid the queue at Red & White, but after I entered, there was a long queue after another 😂.
I was not in the line.
According to the information, it was already crowded even if you go there around 16.30, so it seems to be tough even for people who work in Umeda after regular hours😅.
I'm sure it's tough even for people who work in Umeda after regular hours 😅.
The reason for the popularity is the French oden daikon (daikon radish) which has been featured a lot in the media 🍢.
∙ The other reason for its popularity is that they have a wide selection of sake.
Also, they have a wide variety of drinks and delicious food, so it's popular among the older generation 😅.
😅
The interior of the restaurant has counter seats surrounding the kitchen, and there are many wine glasses hanging above the kitchen, which gives a sense of elegance 🍷.
The background music is also like the one played in Spanish Village 😅.
The background music is western style pop jazz like they used to play in Spanish Village, makes you feel as if you are in a foreign country 😆.
I'm looking forward to seeing you again!
⚠️ By the way, there are only a few tables for more than 4 people, so you'll have to wait longer than at the counter, so it's better to go with two people.
I think it's better to go with two people.
I also liked the staff's pleasant and energetic attitude, even though it was busy, they were very attentive to me as a lone customer 😊.
I would say that the staff was very nice and energetic.
The staff was very nice and energetic, even though it was busy, they were very attentive to me as a single customer 😊.
I was very impressed with the service.
The food we had this time was the popular gourmet food that is the talk of the town!
The dish we had this time was a popular and much talked about gourmet dish.
Tender daikon radish cooked in consomme with porcini mushroom cream sauce ¥-180
The menu also includes a variety of other oden dishes.
There are several other kinds of oden, including beef, chicken, fish, anchovies and other grilled dishes!

The menu includes a variety of dishes with French sauces.
They have a lot of French sauce on them.
It has the shape of a radish, but if you don't look at it and say it's a radish, it looks like a meat 😆.
I'm not sure what to expect.
It tastes so good that I almost cried because it really doesn't taste like radish at all and it's so unexpected 😭
It's so good I almost cried 😭...
It tastes like beef sinew? It tastes like beef brisket, and it also tastes like beef stew if you soak it in a lot of the sauce underneath 😆.
😭・・
The size is huge, the taste is excellent, and the price is really too cheap for 180 yen.
I'll eat French Oden before I die!
I'm so glad I had French Oden before I died 😆.
I'm so glad I had French oden before I died 😆 ...

I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
I heard that they are also famous for their foie gras steamed egg custard besides oden, so next time I go there, I want to try their foie gras 😆👍.
😆👍.
It's easy to get to because it's in Baltika, so it's worth waiting in line 😅.
😅...
I recommend it to anyone who wants to try a great gourmet meal 👍👍.
