As soon as you enter the old-fashioned building, the chef is right in front of you, and you can't help but smile. The cozy interior, with just a counter, creates a warm atmosphere where conversations naturally start among customers. The first dish that came out, skewered myoga (Japanese ginger), had an excellent balance of freshness and the richness of miso. The chicken breast topped with wasabi and the curry-flavored chicken wings had an enticing aroma that made it hard to put down the chopsticks. The shiitake mushrooms and liver were also carefully grilled, and with each bite, the scent of charcoal spread. With the friendly chef's talk and a strong highball, I lost track of time and thoroughly enjoyed myself.
