This Japanese restaurant is located quietly near Karasuma Oike. The entrance is marked by a single character "ryori" (Japanese for "charge"), and the machiya-like appearance adds to the atmosphere. The view of the magnificent grill over the counter is exciting from the aroma. The soups with the aroma of dashi broth and items made with white miso paste have a very pleasant taste. The combination of seasonal ingredients is delightful, and the assortment of yokowa, squid, rape blossoms, and sea urchins are a perfect match. The mackerel sushi sandwiched between crispy seaweed and the savory dish of eel and radish also leave a lasting impression.
