Sushi Kuon Kumagai

Sushi Kuon Kumagai opened in Akasaka in 2016. The owner became independent after years of training and opened his own sushi restaurant in his hometown of Akasaka. Since its opening, the restaurant has been loved by local regulars and foodies.

Mr. Kumagai is a sushi chef who was born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1972. He trained for four years at the sushi restaurant of the Grand Hyatt Tokyo, a luxury hotel in Roppongi, where he became sous chef. Later, he received a transfer from the famous Sushi Kyuyuan restaurant in Yoyogi Uehara and opened Sushi Kyuyuan Kumagai in Akasaka in 2016. His sushi, which makes the most of delicate techniques and seasonal ingredients, attracts many food connoisseurs.
