We are very grateful that we often reach full capacity due to reservations, so there may be times when we cannot prepare a seat for you if you come without a reservation. Therefore, we kindly recommend making a reservation in advance (especially for weekends and holidays, we recommend making a reservation at least 10 days in advance). Additionally, if we cannot prepare a seat for you, we will introduce you to our sister store within a few minutes' walk. Please feel free to contact us first.
During business hours from 16:00 to 20:00, calls for reservations and inquiries are concentrated, making it difficult to connect. Therefore, we recommend contacting us for reservations after 21:00.
Kaiyotei's specialty 'Dancing Live Squid Sashimi' features live squid delivered directly from Hakodate every morning. Enjoy the crunchy texture of the transparent flesh, the sweet and rich liver (goro), and the moving tentacles, all of which are unique to live squid, a true taste of Hokkaido! *Please note that there may be no availability depending on the weather and fishing conditions on the day. *Prices are indicative and may vary based on catch volume and size.
When you think of Hokkaido, you think of 'hairy crab'. The crab meat is rich and sweet, making it very delicious. We also offer 'king crab' which is enjoyed in a hearty manner, and depending on the season, 'hanasaki crab' as well! At Kaiyotei, in addition to 'boiled' and 'grilled', we also have 'live crab' which allows you to enjoy 'crab sashimi'! The sashimi made from freshly prepared live crabs is extremely popular. For those who want to eat crab but find it troublesome to peel, our expertly peeled 'hairy crab meat' is well-received. Kaiyotei has large aquariums installed in all its locations. We can serve live seafood such as live crabs, live abalones, and live fish, freshly prepared right on the spot, sourced from various regions within the prefecture. Please enjoy seasonal seafood at its freshest. Recently, live hairy crabs, live hanasaki crabs, and live snow crabs have become very popular! The types of crabs available vary by season, so feel free to contact us for more information.
We offer seasonal natural ingredients from various regions in Hokkaido. The charm of Hokkaido is that you can enjoy sashimi made from herring, atka mackerel, and octopus. You can enjoy plenty of fresh recommended sashimi.
Sea urchin fishing in Hokkaido takes place throughout the year. In summer, we source from Rebun, Yoichi, and Shakotan, and in winter, from the eastern part of the region. The sea urchin served at Kaiyotei is known as 'saltwater sea urchin,' which is fresh and does not use any ammonium bicarbonate (preservative)! There is no odor or bitterness, allowing you to fully enjoy the rich umami and sweetness of the sea urchin.
The sashimi at Kaiyotei is definitely a great deal when it comes in a platter! We offer seasonal local fish and shellfish from Hokkaido at an astonishing price!! It's quite a volume, so if you're unsure, please consult our staff. We will prepare it according to the number of people.

Needless to say, live abalone is a high-end ingredient, and the abalone from Hokkaido is exquisite! This is because it is directly shipped from the beach, offering a different crunchiness and aroma of the sea. Price varies.
One of Kaiyotei's proud offerings is natural sea urchin! While the season for sea urchin is said to be delicious in summer, at Kaiyotei, we procure delicious natural sea urchin from fishermen directly from various beaches in Hokkaido all year round, regardless of the season! Price varies.
