A traditional restaurant that embodies the history of Kyoto

Hyotei Honten is a restaurant with a 450-year history located near Nanzen-ji Temple, offering a special place to enjoy the changing seasons. The dishes, which respect the original flavors of the ingredients, reflect a deep reverence for the produce and are served with beautiful presentation. The serene view of the garden from the quiet tea room 'Kuzuya' creates a pleasant moment that flows with the passage of time. The spirit of hospitality that has been passed down for generations gracefully welcomes visiting guests.

We appreciated the horikotatsu, which allowed us to enjoy our meals without having to sit on our haunches.

★★★★★ Hyotei Main Branch The atmosphere conveys a sense of Kyoto. The garden is beautiful and I was impressed by how well maintained it is. The food was also very tasty. The food was very simple, with nothing out of the ordinary. I thought it was really amazing that they could make something so simple taste so good.
