The cassoulet here is a shock!　　@ Nishiohashi | Happy to eat good food... Well - it's been 6 years... It was exactly 6 years ago that I learned about a food called cassoulet! What is cassoulet? A bean dish from southwestern France. It is a bean stew or casserole made by simmering pork sausage, lamb, goose, duck, etc. and white kidney beans in a deep earthenware pot called a cassole, from which the dish takes its name, for a long time. (Excerpt from Wiki) The first time I ate cassoulet, it was really delicious and my favorite! I wanted to try a delicious cassoulet for the first time in a long time, so I visited Bistrotobacchus! The location is about a 7.8 minute walk north from Nishi-ohashi station on the Osaka Metro Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line. Inside the restaurant, there are 4 counter seats, 1 table with 4 seats and 2 tables with 2 seats. The restaurant is run by a single chef. First, a toast! Champagne! It was August when we visited the restaurant, and I was so thirsty that I had no choice but to drink it. It's a kind of stewed pig's head with a strong, mild and delicious flavor. Foie gras confit with blueberry jam Duck and foie gras terrine with mustard Terrine of chicken and pork Spanish ham Spanish ham, gold rush avocado, and chicken ham. Appetizers with various meats on top As a meat lover, this is a delightful assortment! Of course, everything is homemade by the chef! All of them have a rather gentle taste! Many hams are salty, but this one doesn't have that. Soft bucket served with appetizers ■Beef tongue confit A large piece of beef tongue with vegetables around it on the grill. The tenderness was surprisingly tender! It makes you happy when you put it in your mouth in a holo holo state! The vegetables are also wildly sized, but they are all perfectly cooked and delicious! Cassoulet Today's main dish is, of course, cassoulet! Because this is what we came here to eat! The meat on the bone comes right off the bone! And what is so delicious with the cassoulet is these white beans! The white beans absorb the flavor of the meat and are soft and limp, which is indescribable! The saltiness is just right, too! Personally, I prefer it with sausage, but it's more than enough! I learned to eat cassoulet here and tried it elsewhere, but... there is no place that can top it. I've tried other places since I learned how to make cassoulet, but... there is no place that surpasses this place! I want to go back just for this! Peach compote Half-cut peach compote and vanilla ice cream! The ice cream is absolutely homemade! The juiciness of the peaches and the richness of the vanilla go so well together. This is just chocolate as it should be! It was so rich and mellow that you could enjoy the aftertaste in your mouth! I haven't had cassoulet in 6 years, and this is the best one I've ever had! The saltiness and the crunchiness of the green beans are truly exquisite! I will go back again when I want to eat cassoulet again! Thanks for the food! I finally made it there...the cassoulet is delicious! I have been wanting to go to this restaurant for a long, long time! Mr. Bacuse! Finally, a visit! The restaurant is located in Shinmachi where many stores are gathered! The nearest station is Nishi-Ohashi on the Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line, within walking distance from Shinsaibashi. The restaurant has a counter and table seating. It is not a large space, but this is a good size for a restaurant like this. The restaurant is run by a very kind couple. The menu is divided into hors d'oeuvres, soups, and main dishes, so it is easy to see and order! If you don't understand the menu, the wife will politely answer you! She also makes puns for those who are in the same room. They say you can order a course meal, but this time we went a la carte. A toast with champagne! Escabeche Escabeche is Western-style Nanbanzuke. A little more than enough for 4 people! The chicken grunt, Spanish mackerel, and salmon were served as escabeche! It was not too sour, but refreshing and delicious! I was so excited from the first plate! The bucket is from Iena! I see a lot of places use Iena's buckets! Chami pork and chicken terrine The terrine has just the right amount of fat, so it's smooth! The meat flavor is also very pronounced, and the blackcurrant and fig sauce is a nice accent! Possibly the best terrine I've ever had... ♪ And the white wine! This white wine was so easy to drink and so delicious! Finally, the day when I can say that wine tastes good... Cassoulet It's no exaggeration to say that this is the main attraction of the day! This is who I came to see! It takes 40 minutes, so order early! Duck confit, pork shank, pork shoulder, pork leg, white kidney beans, and sausage all slow-cooked! This is exquisitely delicious! The meats are so tender that they fall right off! The white kidney beans at the bottom are so soft and crunchy that they look like taro! The soup stock from the various meats is really delicious! This is a must-try! Sautéed sea bream with crispy scales I told my friend that I liked ancient rice. And what a surprise, they served it with something that resembled ancient rice! The scales were crispy and grilled, but the flesh was plump! I was fascinated by the gap between the two! All the dolce were served on top of the rice! Again, they listened to our requests! Chestnut brûlée, pound cake, sponge cake, moire chocolat, ice cream! All handmade by his wife, a former patissier! The taste is as good as a patisserie's! Everything was so delicious that I would give it a 5 star rating! I'm only giving it a 4 or 5 because it was my first time... I might change it if I go to another restaurant in the same genre when I revisit! I really enjoyed the personality of the owner and the wonderful food! On this day, a glass of champagne and two glasses of white wine...you must have grown up! The food was so good that I couldn't stop eating! It was a restaurant that I definitely want to revisit again.
