Shunsaiken Mizuno Located in a building in the Chinese district of Kitashinchi, Osaka. We were the only customers in Kitashinchi at 9pm on a Saturday, perhaps a combo of coronavirus or something. We chose the main dishes: assorted appetizers, assorted sweet-and-sour pork, mapo tofu, dumplings, shrimp chili, and so on! The level of food was so high from the appetizer platter that it scared me. The photo is not very good, but the Chinese style sashimi is delicious! The other standard appetizers such as braised pork and steamed chicken are also excellent in terms of tenderness and balance of flavors! The richness of the piitan also goes well with sake! I was already satisfied with just the appetizers, but the main course is still to come! The sweet-and-sour pork was seasoned with red vinegar and black vinegar. The red vinegar was light and the meat was not too fatty, while the black vinegar was rich and the pork was fatty, making it a very satisfying dish! I recommend comparing the two! The Bean-curd soup with Bean-curd sauce is not too spicy, but has a gentle flavor with a nice touch of sansho (Chinese pepper)!
