A small brewery located in the town of Mele, adjacent to Ghent, the capital of East Flanders, Belgium, which brews various award-winning beers, including the flagship 'Delirium Tremens' of Delirium Cafe.

This beer, which means 'hallucinations due to alcohol addiction,' has a high alcohol content but is so easy to drink that it can make pink elephants, dragons, and crocodiles appear before your eyes.

Brewed in 1999 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Delirium Tremens, this beer has a name that means 'nighttime alcohol addiction,' making it perfect for late-night drinking. It features the roasted malt's toasty aroma, sweetness reminiscent of orange, pineapple, and tropical fruits, along with a subtle hint of acidity that is wonderful.

Originally, at the Belgian brewery Huyghe and Delirium Cafe, a high-alcohol cherry beer was made and consumed as a half-and-half of draft Delirium Tremens and Floris Kriek. Inspired by that, a new Delirium was born, adding the flavor of cherry to the essence of Delirium with a very high alcohol content.

Brewed by the Hugues Brewery to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the French Revolution. Compared to Delirium Tremens, it has a reddish hue and body that evokes the taste of blood and guillotine. Despite the surreal brand name, the flavor is authentic. With its taste, may it not lead to anything terrible, as the name Guillotine suggests.

[Pierre Celis 5.5%] The last white beer challenged by the god of white beer, Pierre Celis, following Hoegaarden White and Celis White. Compared to Celis White, its spicy and full-bodied flavor surpasses that of any other white beer. [Karakoram Brewery 5.5%] A white beer from the Karakoram Brewery in Namur Province, southern Belgium. This beer, which means 'cloudiness', has a refreshing acidity reminiscent of lemon, and there is no similar white beer in Belgium. The only brewery in Belgium that heats its brewing kettle with firewood is this brewery, reflecting a commitment to slowly seeking flavor, much like a 'snail'.

The beer is called Amber due to its name, which means reddish-brown, but it cannot be classified simply because there are various alcohol content levels and flavors. However, there is a gentle sweetness created by lightly roasted caramel malt. It is perfect as a first drink before a rich beer.

[De Ranke Brewery 8.5%] This is the first beer they brewed seriously, which started as a hobby. Using high-quality hops from Poperinge, it is finished with dry hopping, where hops are added during fermentation, resulting in an exquisite flavor. It has a rich aroma and taste of hops, as if you are enjoying the hop flowers themselves. The addition of fresh hops also brings astringency due to their tannins. We recommend enjoying the essence of this beer in a large bottle.

[Bosteels Brewery 8%] Mr. Kwak, who ran a brewery and an inn, noticed that the passengers of the carriages stopping by the inn every day were unable to free their hands to drink while riding due to their thirst. He devised this glass so that they could drink while on the move. It is said that he distributed his beer to everyone. It has a deep reddish-brown color and is a beer with a long-lasting aftertaste of roasted sweetness.

[Dubuison Brewery 12%] In Belgium, it is known as Bush Amber, but due to a lawsuit by Anheuser-Busch of Budweiser, it was forced to change its name in many countries. It has a fragrant alcohol volume reminiscent of whiskey, sweetness, spiciness felt within, and bitterness that comes later. Suitable as a final drink.

[Van Steenberge Brewery 10.5%] Compared to Pilate 9%, it has a slightly reddish hue and a sweet aroma reminiscent of pear. Especially in the large bottle, the sweetness and alcohol sensation feel integrated like honey. This beer has been loved at Bel Oub since its importation.

[Malt Gatt Brewery 8.5%] 'Devil'

Among abbey beers, this one has a low alcohol content of around 6% and is a golden color, making it ideal as the next drink after a white beer. Even beers that are not abbey beers are often referred to as blonde. Many of these beers have a subtle sweetness, but in recent years, various brewers have experimented with infusing whole hop flowers, resulting in a smoother bitterness.

[Delasene Brewery 4.5%] A surreal story from Gogol's novel 'Captain Burba' where a father, a soldier on the Russian side, tries to kill his son who betrays him by falling in love with a Polish noblewoman from the enemy country. This beer is brewed with a wish for peace, so that such stories do not occur in Belgium, where the federal system of Flanders and Wallonia continues. Despite having a lower alcohol content (4.5%) than Japanese beer, it maximizes the aroma and bitterness of hop flowers.

[Van Steenberge Brewery 8%] This beer, which means 'little piglet', donates a portion of its sales to the town of Zwinginard in Ghent. After using the same brewing method as the famous Augustinian monastery beer from this region, it undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle with a different yeast. A friend of the brewer runs a pig farm and was giving this yeast to the pigs for their health. That's how he asked to name the beer made with this yeast 'little pig'. It is blonde in color but has a strong yeast flavor. Not a 'pink elephant', but a 'pink pig'.

[Delacene Brewery 6%] The place where Mr. Bernardo first started this brewery is said to be along the Zene River, where natural fermentation yeasts reside, in this region where lambic brewers gather. In this area, it is colloquially referred to as the Gine River. It has an orange-like hue, a mellow bitterness from the aroma hops, and a faint sweetness that can be felt within. This is the representative beer of this brewery and is also the first beer that was announced.

[De Ranke Brewery 6.5%] A strong bitter blonde beer created by two weekend hobbyists, as the name suggests. Brewed using fresh Hallertau hops from Watou and Poperinge to the fullest extent. Even the most discerning Belgian beer critic, Tim Webb, rated it with five stars, the only blonde beer to receive such a rating. The flavor changes due to secondary fermentation in the bottle, and there is a noticeable difference in taste between the large and small bottles. Be sure to try it in the large bottle to experience the flavor.

[Lulu Brewery 7%] A beer first brewed by the young brewer Gregory. Located in the Luxembourg province of Belgium, adjacent to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, and about 20km from Orval Abbey. Early on, it incorporated Orval yeast and used Amarillo hops. This beer has a honey-like aroma and offers a taste that starts with a honey sweetness and eventually reveals bitterness, making it an exceptional brew. A masterpiece from the Luxembourg province of Belgium.

[InBev's Leuven Brewery 6%] A monastery beer made by the giant company 'Anheuser-Busch InBev', which also acquired Budweiser.

The term 'Dubbel' refers to a type of abbey beer that has an alcohol content of 6% to 8% and is dark brown in color. Originally, 'Dubbel' comes from the meaning that the wort's sugar content (the sugar content before it becomes beer) is typically double that of regular beer. Although it appears dark brown and is often thought of as 'dark beer = Guinness', the dark brown to black beers from Belgium have unique flavors that vary by each brewery's methods and yeast.

[Delacene Brewery 4.5%] Belgium originally did not have a stout category, but Mr. Bernardo took on the challenge. It is soft and dry, but unlike the Irish version, it uses fresh hop flowers, resulting in a new Belgian stout with aromatic scents and a fresh bitterness that can be felt on the tongue, mixed with roasted bitterness.

[St. Bernardus Brewery 8%] The St. Bernardus Brewery is less than a 10-minute drive from the border with France. Among Pater, Periol, and Abt, it is the most balanced dark brown ale. It has a sweetness reminiscent of hazelnuts and bananas, with a spicy and long-lasting finish that lingers in the nose.

[St. Bernardus Brewery 10%] Known as one of the best beers in the world among beer enthusiasts and critics. This beer began brewing in 1946 after receiving the recipe from the 'St. Sixtus Abbey,' which brews the 'Westvleteren Abt,' said to be the best beer in the world. With an aroma reminiscent of ginjo sake, a rich body, and a spicy long finish that convinces you of its premium quality. Perfect as the last drink. The essence of this beer is found in the large bottle.

[Van Steenberge Brewery 7.5%] Originally, this brewery had a farm next door where goats were kept. The name Rout Bock, meaning 'happy goat', features a uniquely shaped glass that is among the most distinctive in Belgium. Do not spill it when you are drunk. You will be able to fully enjoy the roasted flavor of the barley.

The similarities in flavor between Idesbald and the beer called 'Panapot' that was in the town of Pana near Ostend may be due to this local recipe. You can enjoy a pleasant sweetness and alcohol.

[Van Steenberge Brewery 10.5%] The bell tower group in Belgium is recognized as a World Heritage site, and Gouden Draak has been towering over the bell tower of the ancient city of Ghent in East Flanders, Belgium, since the year 1111, overlooking Ghent. This beer has a momentarily soft mouthfeel, but the balance of its rich body and brandy-like flavor is outstanding, rivaling any other beer.

[De Dore Brewery 9%] Until the 1980s, Belgian beer was swept away by the wave of mass-produced beer, and many unique breweries disappeared one after another. During that time, doctors, lawyers, and architects began brewing beer as a hobby. Going against the flow of the times, they started to brew unique beers that only they could create. This beer is the first of those, and it carries the meaning of 'our' and 'original.' Using Flanders red beer yeast, it has strong carbonation, a taste of acidity and roast, all of which are distinctive.

[Lulu Brewery 6.5%] The brewery started with the intention of brewing only Lulu Blonde, but it was brewed as a dark brown ale using Orval yeast to aim for further flavor. It incorporates techniques unique to small breweries, such as opening the top of the fermentation tank, which creates a one-of-a-kind taste. The moment it touches your mouth, you can feel the roasted malt's toastiness and a floral aroma, but it smoothly goes down your throat with bitterness.

[St. Bernardus Brewery (Pierre Celis) 6.5%] Pierre Celis, who created Hoegaarden. He had a dream when he visited the caves where champagne is aged. 'I want to make beer that is aged in caves like this.' His dream becomes reality with this beer. Beer critic Michael Jackson praised it as one of the top 10 in the world in recent years. It has aromas of citrus like orange and pear, banana, and a unique and spicy scent unlike any other.

[Karakol Brewery 9%] Initially brewed as a Christmas beer by Karakol Brewery (snail), it has become a beer brewed year-round. True to its name, drinking this beer provides a sense of satisfaction so profound that one could feel content even if the world were to end, with a sweetness reminiscent of a citrus dessert.

[InBev Reuben Brewery 6.5%] A dark brown abbey beer made by the large company that also acquired Budweiser.

Among abbey beers, those with an alcohol content of 8% to 10% are called Tripel. It is named this way because the sugar content of the wort is higher than that of a Double. Compared to Golden Ale, it has a similar color and alcohol content, but Tripel is brewed to have a stronger sense of alcohol volume and fruitiness.

[St. Bernardus Brewery 8%] There exists a beer made at a monastery in West Flanders, called the best in the world, and this brewery was established by inheriting that recipe. This Tripel, which began brewing there, has an orange color with a floral, fruity flavor, and a hint of bitterness that captivates people.

[Huyghe Brewery 9%] Ostend, known for its specialty 'small shrimp', faces the North Sea. The nearby town of Idesbald is named after 'Saint Idesbald', who served as the abbot here in the 9th century. It features a sweetness reminiscent of pine and a slight acidity. Tripel Karmeliet [Bosteels Brewery 8%] The recipe using barley, wheat, and oats was discovered from the Carmel Monastery and recreates a traditional recipe that was used over 300 years ago. The sweet flavors and aromas reminiscent of pine and pear blend together in a special glass. The taste of the large bottle is also excellent.

[Lulu Brewery 8.4%] A small, small brewery run by three people. They received yeast from the Orval Monastery, located about 20km away, and incorporate labor-intensive brewing methods such as direct fire mashing and opening the top of the fermentation tank, creating a unique flavor. Currently, the most famous Belgian beer critic, Tim Webb, includes this beer in his top 10 beers alongside Taras Boulba and Ixelles Bitter. The coexistence of bitterness and sweetness is superb.

[De Ranke Brewery 7%] A blend of beer using yeast from the Rodenbach Brewery that was used before being acquired by the Girardin Brewery, proposing a new style of lambic that has never been seen before. A genuine blended lambic that can be enjoyed even by those who are not fond of the intense sourness of lambic. This is how De Ranke Creek is created by soaking cherries for more than six months.

[Boon Brewery 5%] A blend of young lambic fermented with natural yeast and lambic aged for several years is called goose. It is a brewery located in the town of Lembeek, which is said to be the origin of the term lambic.

[Cantillon Brewery 5%] A traditional lambic brewery located in the center of Brussels. It has a strong acidity among lambics, but also has a strong presence of the characteristic mustiness of lambic, similar to blue mold. A lambic for Belgian beer enthusiasts.

The origin of Saison beer is that farmers brew beer during the winter to drink in between summer agricultural work. It is mainly brewed in the southern Walloon region. Since it is meant to be consumed while working in agriculture, it generally has a relatively low alcohol content and is often light in color.
