I entered a cozy little shop on the second floor of an old building in a back alley, and I was excited to see the irori (traditional Japanese hearth) in the center. The U-shaped counter has about ten seats, creating a natural distance that encourages conversation even with first-time customers. There is a rich selection of sake suitable for warming, and I was pleased to find that they also offer wine and whiskey. The warm soup, moist potato salad, and oil-marinated cheese that were served first paired perfectly with the drinks. The owner's bright and gentle hospitality was comfortable, and before I knew it, I had spent a long time there. This is a place I want to cherish, where I can forget the hustle and bustle of the lively city and enjoy drinks and conversation at a leisurely pace.
