Kourakuan is a renowned restaurant that was established in 1997 by Hiroyuki Masuda, who utilizes his many years of experience and training. After working at the Gemyouan, known as the Emperor's inn in Kyoto, and the long-established restaurant 'Ryoutei Shibaen', he has established his own unique cooking style and is loved by many. In recent years, he has also been selected as a 'Modern Master Craftsman', and his skills and passion are passed down to many disciples. The restaurant operates with only one group in the evening and 1 to 2 groups during the day, providing a luxurious experience where guests can savor the essence of Japanese cuisine.

Hiroyuki Masuda is from Osaka Prefecture and honed his skills at a traditional restaurant in Kyoto, where he developed his talent at a long-established ryotei (Japanese restaurant). He currently serves as an instructor at a vocational school and is also active as a master of the Koshiki Shijo-ryu knife technique. With a sense of mission to pass on the depth of Japanese cuisine to the next generation, he manages Kourakuan. His dishes are known for offering plates that shine with traditional techniques and creativity, and he continues to take on new challenges. The passion embedded in Masuda's cooking continues to captivate many food enthusiasts.
