The interior, blending seamlessly into the historic streets of Higashiyama, features a refined decor that values the beauty of Japanese aesthetics. At the white wood counter, the delicate craftsmanship, aromas, and sounds unfold right before your eyes, enriching the dining experience. With private and semi-private rooms available, it is also ideal for business meetings, anniversaries, and special gatherings. The seating consists of a counter with six seats and a private room with a table for four; each is limited to one party per day, for a total of two parties per day. This is inspired by the spirit of “one guest, one teahouse” (ikkaku ittei) exemplified by Sen no Rikyu, who entertained a single guest in the two-mat tea room Taian, and reflects our desire to be an establishment that offers careful, heartfelt hospitality. Because we respect the Japanese heart that corresponds to the tea-ceremony spirit of wakei seijaku (harmony, respect, purity, tranquility), we refrain from performances using live ingredients. We also avoid decorating dishes with kaishiki or flowers, presenting them as they are, and provide honest, delicious cuisine that honors the true path of kaiseki.
