A hidden gem in Shimbashi with a charming atmosphere

Toriyaki Suibuta is a lively tavern located a bit away from the hustle and bustle of Shimbashi, exuding a Showa-era charm. The interior features a friendly Japanese ambiance, and the skewered dishes made with fresh ingredients, such as yakitori and horumon, are particularly popular. The high-quality liver skewers are especially loved by many repeat customers. The menu also offers unique drinks like 'Hoisu Sour' and 'Baisu Sour,' making each visit a chance for new discoveries.

In a narrow shop located in an alley next to the shrine, there is a counter in the front and small table seats in the back where you can relax. Lured by the aroma wafting from the grill outside, I ordered a few skewers, and the grilled meat, including pork neck and heart, along with the negima (green onion and chicken), was fragrant and the meat's umami was distinctly felt. The simmered offal dish contained pork belly, konjac, and root vegetables, and it was not heavy, making it easy to eat. The appetizer salad had a nice crunch and the richness of the cheese was delightful. The hois, which I heard is limited to the Tokyo area, had a light herbal aroma and was easy to drink, pairing well with the Hoppy White. The friendly staff grilled everything with care, making it a comfortable and enjoyable place to drop by.

The savory smell wafting from the front of the shop is exciting. The interior is small, with a counter and a table in the back, creating a cozy atmosphere. The grilled offal, especially the 'shiro' (white part), has no unpleasant smell, and the texture and seasoning are great. The skewers of heart and thigh are tender and very delicious. The stew is light, containing konjac and root vegetables, which is comforting. The aroma of coffee shochu is pleasant, and the frozen lemon sour maintains its flavor until the end. The daily appetizers are plentiful, and the service is attentive.
