Since its opening in 1999, the restaurant has captured the hearts and stomachs of many customers with its philosophy of positioning rice and pork miso soup as the main course and tonkatsu as a side dish. This philosophy was born from the founder's previous experience that the side dishes of a set meal are delicious, but the rice and miso soup are disappointing.

He is the second generation owner of Nishi-Yuup, a popular tonkatsu restaurant located in Ginza, Tokyo. His father, Yoshiro, founded the restaurant and was in charge of the daytime business, while Shinichi is in charge of the nighttime business. He and his father use the same ingredients, but express their individuality through different cooking methods.
